This is Shabree. Dear Family, I am doing well in scool. On off track month I will have fun.
On Easter I had fun.
This is Sydni
On Easter Nik and Cassie were a little rambuncshuse but over all they were good.I got a iPod for Easter from Becca. She did not wont to give it to my but she got a mp3 player for her b-day.I had fun on Easter Sunday.I hope you did too.I had to sleep with Shabree for almost #2 week.bye everybody.
Sarah's turn:
I told the girls they could help me write the blog, but that's all they wanted to write. Better than nothing, though, right? LOL, Shabree wanted to write it like a letter. I will try to keep her at it, because I think it would be good for her writing skills to do this. Of course, I myself need to keep this up better. Out of sight, out of mind you know. If I don't keep it up on my screen, I tend to forget all about it and then a week's gone by without me even realizing it.
We had a nice Easter. The girls got some candy, chalk to share, and bubbles to share as well, plus a refill for their bubbles. Of course, Nik and Cassie loved all that stuff as well. They went home Sunday night, and it's been very quiet ever since... LOL considering how much noise our kids make. We went to a local park on Saturday for an Easter egg hunt, and then had one here at home on Sunday. At some point last week our microwave bit the dust (second one this year, too! Something's gotta be wrong with the electrical in this house) so we had to eat our dinner soon after it came out of the oven, because we couldn't re-heat it. We priced microwaves, but since we ended up replacing the van this week as well, as the old one bit the dust about the same time as the microwave, well, we didn't really have the money to replace both, and of course, the van took priority. The van we ended up buying was a couple of years older than ours, same model basically, just a 95 vs a 97, and we paid 1100 for it. SUCH a bummer that our van couldn't hold on any longer. This "new" one runs great though.
Shabree asked me if we could take a vacation when they go off track. I don't know about that... I would love to, but 1) Money's still really tight tight, and 2) We wouldn't be able to take Becca, who would still be in school, and that wouldn't really be fair to her, though I'm NOT sure she'd care. She probably would though. The local pool opens up near the end of May, and the local park is supposed to turn on the spray ground near the end of May, so maybe we'll go have some picnics at the park... the pool is going to cost us, and I don't know that we'll have the money for that, either, since a summer pass is 50 dollars for Shabree on up, and Sammi is still 40 dollars, so that's 290 dollars for all of us...even with a discount of 100 dollars for our family (there's a low income program), it's still 190, which is a LOT for us. So, while I would LOVE to be able to go to the pool every day, I'm not real sure about it. It's the first year in a couple of years that we can even CONSIDER it, but it's still a lot. The spray ground is free, we can take a picnic with us (well, we could do that at the pool too...) Just the pool would be SO much more fun for us. I could see going every day. Still...190 dollars...
Okay, moving on... I put Alex in the tub with Sammi for the first time yesterday where she wasn't in her own little infant tub, and she did great. She even crawled on all fours to get the things she wanted out of the water! She hardly ever crawls on all fours, she usually just gets into a military crawl on her tummy. It's kind of an odd crawl, but it must feel safer to her. She does do it cross pattern, which I was happy to see, but every time she'd get up on her hands and knees, she'd kind of keel over forwards and quickly revert to her tummy crawl. Surprisingly too, that tummy crawl, she's FAST with it. She can really get around. I'll put her in a sitting postion in the living room, go to my scrap room, and 5 minutes later, she's crawled into my scrap room. Anyway, in the tub, she fell over 3 times, once the water knocked her over, once Sammi inadvertently knocked her over, and once Sammi was simply trying to wash her and knocked her over hard that time, so I took her out after that. They had fun playing together in the tub though. I took some pictures and video, but I accidentally erased the video. I forget that it doesn't download with the pictures, so I reformatted the card without thinking, and there went my video. I do that way too much. But, I got some pictures, so I guess it's all right. I'll have to scrap it for the two of them. I'm WAY behind on my scrapbooking, and I really need to go a bunch of pages for those two, Sammi especially so she'll have something more to look at in her book.
Let's see, what else? Sammi had her first official speech therapy last week at our house, and is now scheduled for Wednesdays at 5, and she's doing just GREAT with it. She's got so many more words now, and some 2 word sentences. You can't understand everything she says, but she's doing loads better, and loves to talk on the phone. She's getting so big... sigh. And the fact that Alex will be one in just over a month kind of breaks my heart. My babies.... wah.
I guess I'd better wrap up... it's 5:30 and someone needs to start getting some dinner, or the girls are going to get it for themselves, and that would be bad. We had to give Sydni some hot sauce today for taking our things after being told no... and that girl! She dumped the hot sauce, and lied that she'd already taken it. She got an extra spoon of it for that. I asked her when she was going to stop being sneaky, and she says "Soon." SOON? When the heck is soon? She never did give me an answer, and her antics with the hot sauce had me laughing, for which I felt SO bad about, though she's SUCH a little drama queen. I finally told her as I was hugging her and apologizing for laughing, that soon needs to mean now. I always did have a problem of laughing at totally inappropriate moments. I don't even know why... to relieve tension maybe (though Syd IS a total drama queen, and her wailing was kinda funny in a sad sort of way... does that make me a bad mother?) I had to leave the room, so I took Shabree and Sammi and hid out in my scrap room, helping Shabree with her homework.
I hope to make the updates from Syd and Shabree more of an ongoing thing, hopefully it'll help their spelling and writing skills, though this is supposed to be FUN, so I'm not going to push it too terribly much.
Okay, I am out of here.

It's so hysterical to me that you'd use hot sauce as punishment because I suppose, as Mexican, we've been having hot sauce almost since birth so you can't scare us or punish us with hot sauce! *LMAO*
ReplyDeleteThe girls are so beautiful but they're sooo much more pretty in person. In person, they're stunning.
